Enhancing the Growth of the coffee Value Chain of Arabica Coffee Growers in Mountain Elgon

The project timeline is expected to be at least 4 years,probably more. However, the developed budget covers only the first year of implementation. The subsequent years’ budget will be based on the new developments of the project and emerging needs of the project beneficiaries.

Our proposed project has the following objectives:

To strengthen the Arabica coffee value chain in the Mount Elgon region, from production to processing and marketing without the exploitation of Middlemen.
To improve farmers’ economic resilience, diversification of production and increase the income by at least 30% through the adoption of sustainable farming practices of Arabica coffee.
To reduce vulnerabilities and sensitivity to climate change amongst farmers through adoption of climate smart agriculture.
To enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills through peer-to-peer learning, experiential learning and creation of a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among Arabica coffee farmers.
To improve livelihoods among farmers at the Mt Elgon
