Bukedea Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Small Programme –

BUCAREP II-programmet har til formål at styrke klimaresiliensen for 1.070 husstande (ca. 3.240 personer) i Bukedea- og Sironko-distrikterne i Uganda inden 2028.

Programmet ledes i fællesskab af CIDI og Seniorer uden Grænser og arbejder sammen med 19 Environmental Conservation and Climate Change Vulnerable Groups samt 5 civilsamfundsorganisationer for at styrke den allerede opbyggede lokale kapacitet inden for fødevaresikkerhed, klimasmart landbrug, WASH (vand, sanitet og hygiejne) samt fortalervirksomhed.

Programmet fremmer rettighedsbaseret og lokalt drevet klimaindsats gennem træning, lokal civilsamfundsorganisering og samarbejde med lokale myndigheder via DECAP – District Environment and Climate Advocacy Platform.

Programmet understøtter bæredygtighed gennem deltagelsesbaseret planlægning, VSLAs (Village Savings and Loan Associations), erfaringsudveksling mellem grupper samt fælles advocacy-indsats.

Indsatser ledet af kvinder og unge vil bidrage til forbedrede levevilkår, øgede indkomster og bedre klimarelaterede sundhedsforhold.

The BUCAREP II program aims to strengthen climate resilience for 1.070 households ( approx 3,240 people ) in Bukedea and Sironko district of Uganda, by 2028. Jointly led by CIDI and Seniors without Borders it works with 19 Environmental Conservation and Climate Change Vulnarable groups and 5 Civil Society Organisations to enhance the already built local capacity in food security, climate-smart agriculture, Wash , Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and advocacy. The program promotes rights-based community driven climate action through training, local civic organisation, and linkage to local authorities via th DECAP, District Environment and Climate Advocacy Platform. It fosters sustainability through participatory planning, VSLAs, peer learning and joint advocacy. Women  and youth-led efforts will drive improved livelyhoods, income, and climate-related heatth outcome
